EXTRAORDINARY MAINTENANCE OF THE EXTERIORS
The objective of the project is aimed at the extraordinary maintenance of the external facings of the former toll booths of the Arco della Pace.
Operational Phases of the Intervention
1. Cleaning of Surfaces
Cleaning of the surfaces using a low-pressure hot water pressure washer, aimed at removing surface deposits and incoherent patinas.
2. Restoration of Detached Plasters
Restoration of detached plaster sections through the application of lime-based mortars, aimed at recovering cohesion and material continuity of the surfaces.
3. Filling of Stone Surfaces
Filling of lacunae and discontinuities in the stone surfaces using lime-based mortars with appropriately colored marble powders.
4. Final Protective Treatment
Application of a water-repellent treatment on the restored stone surfaces, aimed at protecting the materials and limiting water absorption.
